The first century church grew at a rapid rate despite harsh persecution. Taylor considers the example of the church at Antioch (Acts 11:19-26) and finds that the church grew because it developed a culture of evangelism. Churches share the following attributes:

1. Everybody is involved with evangelism
2. Every decision is made with a concern for the lost
3. Have an environment conducive to growth
4. Understand that evangelism is a process (not an event)
